In this context, Borussia Dortmund will free footballers who do not wish to participate in the commitments of the German competition. Michael Zorc, sports director of the entity, explained that they will understand the situation, in case it presents.

 

"If someone has doubts or is afraid, we will handle the situation rationally and we will leave them free not to play," said the representative of the 'Yellow Gale' one day before the game against Schalke 04, the classic rival.

However, the manager expressed that he does not feel that there are doubts in the team regarding the resumption of the season this weekend when a new edition of the Ruhr basin derby takes place.

 

 

“My impression is that everyone is happy to be able to play football again. Everyone wants to play, ”said Michael Zorc about the spirit he has perceived among the players since they restarted activities.

 

What is the situation for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga?

Dortmund remained in second place in the standings with 51 units, four fewer than Bayern Munich, which closed at the top of the Bundesliga before being paralyzed by the pandemic.

For its part, Schalke 04 stayed in the sixth box with 37, far from the title dispute. However, the ‘Blue Kings’ will go to the Westfalenstadion -without the presence of fans- with the slogan of staying with the derby and getting into the fight for a European tournament.
