The plan to return, with matches behind closed doors and with strict preventive measures such as frequent tests to the players, will have to show from the weekend that it works not only on paper but also in reality. Those responsible for the German Football League (DFL) are aware that, although the goal is to end the season, you must also be prepared for the worst.

Initially, it was thought to decide today on what would be done, regarding the descent, in case the season had to be postponed but the clubs have asked to postpone the decision. What it is now is to prepare for the games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday and, as far as possible, focus on sports goals.

DORTMUND-SCHALKE, THE MATCH TO SEE

The derby of the Ruhr area, between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke, is undoubtedly the highlight of Saturday afternoon. Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has called the match the "weirdest derby in history." Both live a lot from their public, they usually grow in their own stadium and, although playing behind closed doors is a challenge, for them it is possible that the disadvantage is more noticeable.

Dortmund is second, with four points less than Bayern, and, with nine days to go, they still dream of the Bundesliga title, which would be the first since 2012. In principle, Dortmund starts as a favorite although it will have two important losses , both due to muscle injuries, which are those of Emre Can and Axel Witsel. To these is added that of Captain Marco Reus, who has not yet recovered.

Schalke, meanwhile, is currently sixth and struggling to stay in the slots that give the Europa League qualification. RB Leipzig, third in contention in the title fight with five points less than Bayern, will also receive Freiburg on Saturday afternoon.

UNIÓN-BAYERN, THE BEST OF SUNDAY

The leader, Bayern Munich, will visit Union Berlin on Sunday in the last game of the weekend. By the time the season was interrupted, Bayern had become intractable and the question now is to what extent can it get back on track although that is something that is valid now for all teams.

On the other hand, the pause has given Bayern something positive, which is the return of their scorer Robert Lewandowski, who was out at the time of the interruption. Now, already recovered and in shape, he is expected to come out as a starter.

Although the Union this season has shown itself capable of annoying the greats - Dortmund defeated - Bayern's favoritism is clear. The Bavarians have two casualties from potentially titular players Philippe Coutinho and Corentin Tolisso.
