The Health Minister, Víctor Zamora, ruled out that he is going to resign after several medical unions asked for his resignation due to his recent statements to a local media about the situation of doctors in Iquitos.

 

The Minister of Health, Víctor Zamora, indicated this Sunday that his position is at the disposal of President Martín Vizcarra and assured that he will continue "working for the country" until he so provides, amid the national emergency due to the COVID pandemic- 19.

“My position is like that of all ministers at the disposal of the President of the Republic. I continue working for my country. I am a doctor and the situation Iquitos is experiencing hurts and the situation of the families of the doctors. I am not turning my back on them, my commitment is with all of them. Losing doctors, nurses and compatriots is hard for everyone as it is for me and you, "said Zamora in dialogue with Canal N.

 

“My position is in the hands of the President of the Republic, he has given me confidence and I am proud that he gave it to me at such a difficult time. My presence or not in the post will not change the situation we have in the face of the pandemic. The focus of the debate should be how we do to improve the capacity of our public health, "he said.
