We will have to wait longer than planned to see the new GMC Hummer EV pickup truck, as the company has postponed the reveal for this new model due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The debut was originally planned for May 20 but will now be pushed back to an undetermined future date. GMC says that development of the vehicle is unaffected and is sticking to its production timeline, meaning its market launch is still planned for late 2021.

GMC has also shared a new video clip of the Hummer EV driving through the woods. The drone shot gives a vague glimpse at the truck from above, although we can't say it reveals much about the truck's design beyond the front end that GMC shared during the model's Super Bowl ad debut. It does appear to have a glass roof, as we can see inside the cabin from this view—or there could be some visual trickery going on.

We do know that the Hummer EV will come in both SUT truck and SUV forms, with the pickup coming first and the SUV to follow. It's expected to be similar in size to GM's full-size gasoline pickups. It's expected to offer one-, two-, and three-motor versions with varying hauling capabilities. Stay tuned for more information to come on the Hummer EV.
