The VLN has rescheduled the races of the Nürburgring Long Distance Series this year. After the first three races of the series had to be cancelled, a new schedule for the year was worked out together with the Nürburgring. Eight races are planned. The start of the season is scheduled for 27 June 2020. A novelty in the series' history is a double event on 11 and 12 July. The season finale will take place on 21 November 2020. "Of course, nobody can say today whether we will be racing again in June," says Christian Stephani, Managing Director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG. "It is important to us to give the participants a perspective for the time after the ban on public events, even though restrictions are certainly to be expected at the beginning. If necessary, we will also hold the events without spectators.

In this way, we also want to fulfil our responsibility towards the teams whose economic situation is directly linked to the holding of racing events. We are setting the provisional schedule for eight races. For this, we have to make compromises, such as the double event in July or the final in late November. This is not ideal, but at the moment there is simply no alternative." Even though a provisional timetable for 2020 is now available, the political situation is still being monitored. "We will continue to maintain a close exchange with all responsible authorities and the Nürburgring," says Stephani. "Should the possibility arise at short notice to be able to offer the teams an additional date, we will examine this".
