Russ ;x Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Sometimes we need to know the version, release level, service pack, or build of one of our Microsoft Office software applications. And sometimes it's difficult to find this information. Instructions are included in separate sections below for Office 365, Office 2019 through 2007, and Office 2003 and older. Find the section that you think correlates to your Office version and follow the steps listed. Version and Build for Office 365 Open one of the office products and click account. If a file is already opened, click File and Account (or Help) in the list at left. If you don't see the version number in the Product Information window, click the "About" link for the product. More information, such as the full version number and product ID, can also be viewed by clicking About from the Product Information window. Version and Service Pack Level for Office 2019, Office 2016, Office 2013, Office 2010, and Office 2007 ● Open one of the Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel). If the left-most tab says File, then click "File" and click "Help". The version and service pack level will be on the window that opens. ● If there is no File tab: Click the Microsoft Office button in the upper left corner of the window. Click the Options button at the bottom. Click Resources and then click About. The screen shot below was taken from an Office 2010 Word installation. The look of the window presented and the information presented does differ between the various versions of Office (i.e. 2007, 2013). Version and Build for Office 2003 and Older Open one of the office products Click Help and click About Performance and security fixes for older versions of Office were called updates, and service packs contained multiple updates. Newer subscription-based Office products have versions and builds. We hope our tutorial has been helpful. Cheers!
