Yehude Simon, former president of the Council of Ministers, was detained for a period of 10 days this morning in his home in Surco by order of Judge María Álvarez Camacho and at the request of prosecutor José Domingo Pérez, in the framework of the investigations into the Olmos case .

In the same way, Pablo Enrique Salazar Torres, former general manager of the Special Project Olmos Tinajones, a confidant of the former leader Yehude Simon, was arrested.
The properties related to the former prime minister of Alan García are located in Surco and Lambayeque, where the politician was regional governor until 2016.

Yehude Simon, as requested by the Prosecutor's Office, is indicated as the author of the alleged crime against the public administration as a collusion.

In addition, the alleged member of the crime of laundering of aggravated assets in their form of criminal organization is also credited to the expatriate.

The investigation against Simon focuses on the management of the concession of the work "Transfer and Irrigation of Olmos".

What the Prosecutor's Office presumes is that Yehude Simon would have favored the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht, which, through the codinomes “Gorno” and “Terco”, would have paid him bribes with money from Box 2.

Along these lines, Yehude Simon is also accused of having received approximately 300 thousand dollars from the same illegal source to finance his political campaign for re-election, through Pablo Enrique Salazar Torres and Luis Malaga Cocchella, men of his trust.

Serious elements
In brief statements to the media, prosecutor José Domingo Pérez, who is responsible for the raids, said there were strong elements that merited the restrictive measure against the former prime minister.

"There are quite serious elements that have determined that the judge dictates this measure of detention and search," said prosecutor José Domingo Pérez, without giving more details about the investigation.
