Jultxxxyes Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Many were the pitchers who shone in the 2019/20 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, but it was finally decreed that Yohan Pino was the one who had the greatest spotlight, being elected Launcher of the Year, as announced by Numeritos Sports Management yesterday. The right-hander had a campaign worthy of framing, standing out in several departments, after finishing among the leaders in most of the most important categories among the pitchers who were considered for this award. The Turmero native took 37 votes for first place, 11 for second and one for third, totaling 219 points, which allowed him to stand with the award above Henry Centeno de los Bravos de Margarita, who came second with 147 units, while the podium was completed by Néstor Molina de Cardenales de Lara, with 59 votes. Pino was undoubtedly the most constant and dominant pitcher, not only of the electric, but of the whole circuit, not allowing more than three races in any of his 11 appearances in the campaign. His worst outing was recorded on December 23 against the Lions of Caracas, when he admitted trio of hairline in just 2.2 innings. That performance aside, Pino recorded eight presentations of a career or less, and ended the year with a 5-0 and 2.11 mark of effectiveness, making it the fourth best in that category. Pino had a tremendous season.
