[MC]Ronin[MC] Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 The Toyota RAV4 PHEV travels up to 65 km on electricity alone The model is the purest SUV AWD plugin in segment D. Making its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is coming to Europe as well. The first plug-in hybrid in the RAV4 family combines power and efficiency that are extremely attractive on paper. The model is powered by a 2.5-liter Hybrid Dynamic Force gasoline engine and a rear-mounted electric motor with a total power of 306 hp. This configuration gives the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid a sprint at 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds. But a far more important parameter is related to the emission of harmful CO2 emissions, which amounts to only 29 g / km in the WLTP cycle, making the model the cleanest four-wheel drive SUV in the D segment. Based on the GA-K platform, the RAV4 PHEV relies on a floor-mounted lithium-ion battery. It is not removed from the interior, and the weight in the lower body has a beneficial effect on road behavior. The boot capacity is 520 liters, which is 60 liters less than the standard RAV4. Toyota does not say what the capacity of the battery is, but states that it provides enough charge to travel more than 65 km (WLTP cycle) of electricity alone. During EV propulsion, the top speed can reach a maximum of 135 km / h. This theoretical mileage means that your daily commute to the city can be met without the need to charge or use an internal combustion engine. Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid will not remain unrecognizable on the road. Designers have taken care of the two-tone body design, sportier bumpers, blue emblem, and new 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels. The plug-in hybrid offers new interior trims, a 9-inch multimedia display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front and rear seat heating, power tailgate, panoramic glass roof, head-up display and many other active systems and passive safety. The Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid will go on sale in the second half of the year. Quote
