The Serbian team went up against Spain, after Roberto Bautista added the first point to Dusan Lajovic, with the victory of both Novak Djokovic over Rafael Nadal in the second individual, as well as in the doubles, where Djokovic and Viktor Troicki himself Feliciano López and Pablo Carreño were bent by 6-3 and 6-4, to proclaim themselves champions in the first edition of the ATP Cup.

Nadal gave up the double dispute after his loss to Djokovic for the accumulation of games in the last nine days, eight in total, although he guaranteed that it was "a team decision" and not personal.

Regarding the doubles, the Spaniards started inspired after adding an early break that allowed them to expand the difference to 3-1.

However, the tables changed from that precise moment after the Spaniards did not add any more game until the end of the first round.

The roar of the public, mostly Serbian, kept the Spanish couple away from any attempt to come back and the Serbian tennis players, on the contrary, with the motivation intact.

The second set started with a game to the rest favorable to the Serbs, which would later serve to sentence the match, the tie and the title of the first edition after ditching it 6-4.

The final had begun with victory of Roberto Bautista against Lajovic, 7-5 and 6-1. Then Djokovic beat Nadal 6-4 and 7-6 (4) to match Serbia 1-1 and leave everything sentenced for double.
