PSV Eindhoven kicked off the legend Van Bommel

 

PSV Eindhoven management dismissed Mark van Bommel as senior team coach. The news was reported on the club's official Twitter account.

It happened just a day after the defeat in the Feyenoord derby (1: 3). PSV is fourth in the provisional standings in the Netherlands Championship with 31 points. The team lags behind the entire 10th leader Ajax.

Eindhoven players were eliminated in the group stage of the Europa League tournament, ahead of the fight for one of the first two places by Sporting Lisbon and LASK Linz.

Expectations for Van Bommel were huge, but after the team's hesitant performances in November and December, his confidence had waned. Matches in the Netherlands resume in mid-January.
