Six architects and interior designers show us how they decorate their house in December. As good creatives, they have devised original proposals, which give a completely new dimension to classic elements. His works are authentic ephemeral projects. Ideas with a lot of style to avoid the aesthetic mania of these dates without forgetting the festive spirit.

A LITTLE out of curiosity and another little by necessity, Rut Chicote, 39, set up his decoration blog in 2013. For two years he combined the publication of articles on interior design projects and tips with his work as a designer of commercial spaces and decorator. Over time they began to receive advice and proposals to design homes. In 2015 he launched his own studio. He lives in an apartment in Valencia with his partner and two children. As a stylist, he receives many commissions to design Christmas decorations and dining tables. In fact, he has participated twice in the creation of Christmas spaces for the Leroy Merlin of Valencia, a firm to which some of the elements he has chosen for his proposal belong.

We are in your living room, in the dining area. Chicote likes to make the decoration casual. Each year is responsible for decorating the family table. "I love to surprise with small details," he says. Here, instead of the classic tablecloth, the table has been covered by a path (inherited from his mother) and individual table mats. The dishes, glasses and cups are uneven from different firms: Ikea, Zara or Villeroy & Boch. The natural decoration is from the local florist Absoluta Flora, based on robust eucalyptus, pitosporino and illex branches. To tangle the bows of the bowls and the crown of the sideboard, he has used wooden embroidery frames.

It is easy to recognize the seal of the study of the architect Javier Jiménez Iniesta, 41, because, as he likes to point out, he does not limit himself to applying a graphic to a space. Rather, it is the graphic itself that builds it, giving it a three-dimensional condition that makes it a kind of stage, commercial or domestic. In their spaces, often a certain constructive resource with a color treatment is articulated as the guiding thread of the entire project. That is why his Christmas intervention has focused on that, on color, on how to achieve an effect by working also with natural light, a forgotten one on this winter holiday.
