Charlo stopped Hogan and retained the WBC's middleweight belt

Чарло спря Хоган и запази пояса на WBC в средна категория

Undefeated American Jermal Charlo won with a technical knockout against Irish challenger Denis Hogan in the seventh round to defend his world WBC middleweight title.

The American sent his opponent to a knockdown after a terrific fourth-round opener, but Hogan recovered and continued the match. But Charlie kept up the pressure and, after a left crunch in the seventh round, grabbed his 30th career win, 22 of which were already knocked out. For Hogan, it was the first knockout defeat, with his balance already 28-3.

Earlier, the British Chris Eubank-Junior won the provisional WBC middleweight title after the refusal of his Russian rival Matt Korobov, who suffered a left shoulder injury in the second round. Eubank is already 29-2 (22 with a knockout), while Korobov is 28-3, with one draw.

In the first game of the evening, Japan's Ryosuke Iwasa won, after a technical knockout in the 11th round, against Filipino Marlon Tapales, the provisional IBF Super Bowl title. Iwasa, a former fullback IBF title holder, improved to 27-3 with 17 knockouts, while Tapales is now 33-2. / BGNES
