Through this event, whose theme is "Family and Diabetes: the family as a key to the prevention, early detection and care of diabetes" and has networks with the "hashtag" # alicante4diabetes, aims to raise awareness of the importance of citizens of healthy lifestyle habits. “A large part of cases of type 2 diabetes can be prevented with a healthier lifestyle, including regular exercise, weight control and diet, and complications can be avoided with good control and self-care », Emphasizes the coordinator of the Department of Diabetes Unit, Oscar Moreno. This test, which has managed to gather more than 1,000 participants in the last three editions, will start on the 17th at 10:30 am from San Juan Beach (at the corner of the Paseo Marítimo with calle Ireland), and will have a circular route round trip parallel to the beach line, with a total of 5 kilometers. It can also be done on foot and there will also be tests for the little ones. The event also has the support and participation of the Valencian Community Diabetics Federation (FEDICOVA), the Valencian Society of Endocrinologist Diabetes and Nutrition and the Alicante City Council.
