This young Bulgarian violinist wins award after award

Martin Zairanov, for whom music is a way of life

Този млад български цигулар печели награда след награда

"Before he can write, the child draws. Before he can speak, he sings. "

This is how our conversation with Georgi Zayranov, who is the father of two really extraordinary guys - Martin and Alexander - begins.

He remembers crossing the mountain when Martin was about 4 years old. Then the family has to go through a stretch of nettle that can scorch the little boy. The father hugs him, but after crossing the risk zone, the child runs out and returns to cross it again, but this time alone.

"As it is in life, so is it in music. Extreme. "That says Georgy Zainarov about his son, Martin, who has represented Bulgaria at a number of international competitions, and his virtuoso violin performances have never stopped fascinating the world.

However, how do you achieve success in music, in the world of classical musicians, where the precision in performance is uncompromising and without emotion, the performance is lacking inspiration?

The young Bulgarian violinist Martin Zairanov and his father Georgi tell about this to Inspired and Vesti.bg.

Martin is from a family of musicians. His parents, as well as his grandparents, are involved in music. It seems only natural for him to make that choice in life, though his parents were not quite convinced that it was Martin and his brother, Alexander, who would deal with it.

Georgi remembers that the two boys are very lush and always have some litter in their repertoire that can turn the house upside down. However, the mother and father want to give them a musical culture and at first introduce them to the piano and the trumpet. However, when he goes to school, Martin sees a violin and his instincts direct him to it.

At that time, he hardly imagined that his violin would win many awards and would reach Hiroshima, where it would become part of the memory of so many innocent victims.

However, the boy's talent is manifested in the first competition he appears. When he was just 8 years old, he received an extraordinary award at the Svetoslav Obretenov Competition. However, he does not say that he is better than others, but that he just loves music a lot.

This is evidenced by the daily rehearsals, which, after practicing with teachers, last 2-3 hours with the parents. Over the years, many educators have helped Martin develop his talent - Eugene Paskova at the Dobri Hristov Research Institute in Varna, as well as Professor Mario Hosen from the NBU.

"My violin was interesting from the very beginning. The more I played, the more I liked it, "said the boy, adding that difficult works are like a high peak for him to conquer.

Martin, besides a fan of classical music, is a passionate fan of extreme sports.

"Martin is the leader of the hump," his father says, adding: "The harder it gets, the more it gets bloated. When I play, I do it the same way I snowboard.

However, Georgi admits that for him as a parent, one of the most exciting moments is to see the audience get real, teary-eyed during the performance of his son. As recently happened in the native Varna during a concert at the Art Gallery of the city. Georgi also said that it is very difficult for a parent to watch their child during a competition. He is going through a hard time and prefers concerts when he can really enjoy his son's performances.

"Every competition has rules that must be followed," Martin explains, adding: "You can be more relaxed during a concert."

However, the rules of the contests clearly do not scare Martin, who manages to impress the jury more than once.

After winning a competition between students at the University of Vienna where he is studying, Martin has been selected to be one of the two instrumentalists at his school to play at the Hiroshima Memorial Ceremony honoring the victims of the atomic bomb.

However, this is not Martin's first visit to the Land of the Rising Sun. Previously, he is in Tokyo, where he is a finalist at the Eurasia International Competition.

Martin's dreams are related to appearing in big halls such as the Musikfein, the Royal Albert Hall or the Carnegie Hall.

"I want to do classical music, but to build my own style, to be different," the boy says, adding that the music gave him: "Music gave me a way to express myself to an audience. When a person is ready and takes the stage, music gives off your feelings, ”Martin says, adding:“ Music has taught me the discipline that I have to be dedicated, that I have to be very precise. ”

One of the most prized awards for Martin is the first prize from the prestigious Henri Marto Competition in Liechtenberg, Germany, where he receives the violin he is currently playing. She is the master violin of Giovanni Paolo Magini. (a copy of the violin by French instrumentalist and composer Henri Marto). She will have to return it soon because the award is given for a period of 3 years and she admits: "You are building an emotional connection with the violin. To me, she's like a person who needs a lot of special care, so when you go out on stage, she'll help you and listen to you. "

Martin is in Bulgaria a little. He studied in Vienna - at the "University of Music and Performing Arts", in the violin class of Professor Anton Sorokov, who is also the First Concert Master of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra

On Sunday, Martin won the second prize of the Vasko Abadzhiev Competition. But the prize is not an occasion for rest, even on the contrary. For him, another award means only one thing - more work. Two competitions await him: one in Poland and then Germany.

He doesn't know how far the music will take him. One thing is for sure, though. That the music of the young violinist who presents Bulgaria to the world takes the audience who listens to it to a place where beauty can make you better.
