Liverpool officials have officially announced their intentions for a new redevelopment of Anfield Stadium. The Reds want to increase the capacity of the facility by 7,000 more, reaching over 61,000 people.

The renovation will be one of the stands at the stadium - Anfield Road, which is behind one of the two doors.

Initial estimates are that the repair of the legendary facility will cost around £ 60m, with funding already provided, according to the Liverpoo Echo.

The club is launching a public discussion on the project with city residents living near Anfield.

Since the last expansion of the stadium, its capacity has reached 54,000 seats. However, after another refurbishment, it will be ranked in the Type 3 of the largest stadiums in England after those of Manchester United and Tottenham.
