[Nike]
This powerful version has a series of adaptations that differentiate it widely from the three-door MINI Cooper on which it is based. As part of this transformation it was converted to a two-seater with the aim of achieving the highest weight / power ratio, it also obtains an optimized body in terms of lightness, torsional stiffness and aerodynamic construction. Undoubtedly, what attracts the most attention of this GP version is the combination of power with less weight, greater rigidity and aerodynamics, which makes it the fastest MINI in history. The latter comes after the TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 306 hp between 5,000 and 6,250 rpm and 332 foot-pounds of torque from 1,750 to 4,500 rpm, can take the speedometer needle from 0 to 100 km / h in only 5.2 seconds In addition to this, the maximum speed has no limitation, so it reaches 265 km / h. As part of the adjustments, the MINI John Cooper Works GP 2020 obtains a sports exhaust system, an eight-speed automatic gearbox with mechanical differential lock for the front axle, optimizations in the cooling system, a reduction in height of the 10 mm suspension compared to the MINI John Cooper Works, adjustments in the shock absorbers, a high-performance brake system, an aerodynamic kit, carbon fiber dashboard moldings, a set of 18-light alloy wheels inches weighing less than nine kilograms and high performance tires specially developed for this vehicle. Inside this MINI John Cooper Works GP 2020, sports seats lined in leather with silver side edges, seams in red, a "GP" badge under the integrated head restraints, red straps for safety belt, lined steering wheel stand out suede with details produced by the 3D printing process and the instrument panel screens and multimedia system. Next to this sporting environment, there is the elimination of the rear bench and the reduced sound insulation to optimize the weight. As mentioned, the new MINI John Cooper Works GP has a limit of 3,000 units produced at the MINI plant in Oxford, which will be delivered to customers from March 2020.
