Mac users got rid of this multimedia software often criticized by macOS Catalina, but lives on computers that use the Microsoft operating system. However, Apple seems to be working to create a replacement for Windows as well. So, technically the same does not disappear at all, but it would lose the name iTunes. Apple published a job offer on LinkedIn for a senior software engineer, specifically who knows about Windows Media applications. They are looking for someone to "join us and build the next generation of applications for Windows." Of course, the company could simply hire someone to work on the next version of iTunes. But that software was not mentioned in the list. Goodbye to the Apple program on Windows? For more than a decade of FeatureCreep for iTunes, an application created for the first time to put music on iPods added video, podcasts, e-books, sync and iPhone and iPad backups, and more. It grew so much that The Verge called it "Apple's most hated application." macOS Catalina, launched last month, divided iTunes into multiple applications, each focusing on a different type of content. There are Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Books and Apple Podcasts. Apple's list of jobs looking for someone to work on their Windows Media applications requires applicants to "love music." It is not mentioned that they are passionate about movies or books, which suggests that the person hired will work in Apple Music for Windows. This seems to fit better with the creation of “the next generation of media applications for Windows” than simply adjusting the iTunes program for Windows more.
