King_of_lion Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 The Japanese really love their Rs when naming bikes or cars. Supposedly, an “R” on a motorcycle or car's name e.g.: GSX-R 1000R, Civic Type R and so on, denotes “racing” in its bloodline. Well, our friends from Honda just unveiled their latest iteration of the CBR line in the form of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. Yes, that's three Rs for you folks. Honda boasts that the newest Fireblade is the “closest thing” to the P15-million RC213V-S and Marc Marquez' RC213V MotoGP race bike. Under the fairings is a 217-Ps (214 bhp) four-cylinder powerplant with 113 Nm of torque. Combined with all of that plastic and composite bodywork, it tips the scales at only 201 kilograms. 2020 Honda Fireblade gets updated and...gets three Rs image But wait, there's more! The new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is also going to be offered in an SP variant. Historically speaking, the “SP” badge is usually reserved for the “Special Edition” variants of certain Honda models, which would make it the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. 2020 Honda Fireblade gets updated and...gets three Rs image The “SP” variant will get top-shelf upgrades such as second-gen semi-active Öhlins EC 43mm NPX front forks, an Öhlins TTX36 Smart-EC rear shock, Brembo Stylema four-piston radial front calipers, and the Brembo monoblock rear caliper previously seen on the RC213V-S. Both versions will also get titanium Akrapovič exhaust. 2020 Honda Fireblade gets updated and...gets three Rs image Both versions will only be available in two color schemes: HRC (Honda racing) colors and Matte Pearl Black. Prices, full specs and release dates will be announced by Honda soon.
