He is a genius, the youngest university graduate in the world and is 9 years old

His parents realized very early on that a miracle baby was growing in their family

The youngest holder of a higher education diploma in the world will become Laurent Simons of the Netherlands. He is due to graduate from Eindhoven Technical University in a few months, the BBC reports.

Laurent studies in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He entered the university a little over a year ago.

 

The six-year high school education program miraculously completes a year and a half. At the age of 8, he received his high school diploma.

After a summer vacation, he enrolled in a university whose program passed much faster than anyone else in the course.

The boy has an IQ of 145 and has photographic memory. Laurent shares that mathematics is his favorite subject because it combines statistics, geometry and algebra.

He wants to grow to become a cardiac surgeon. While at school, the boy took a course at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Amsterdam. In the longer term, Laurent intends to pursue genetics and find a way to extend people's lives.

Laurent's mother is from the Netherlands and his father is Belgian. The boy was born in Belgium, after which the family moved to live in the Netherlands.
