Ducati presented, within the Scrambler family, two new prototypes that will surely become serial models and whose sketches were shown at the conference that the brand held in Rimini a couple of weeks ago.

This is the Motard, which, as the name implies, has a supermotard style, but especially, the Desert X, an authentic trail of the Dakarian air of the 80s.

The latter attracted a lot of attention, for clearly making a nod to that Cagiva Elefant, with which Hubert Auriol almost managed to win Paris-Dakar in the 80s.

In fact, it adopts a decoration that clearly resembles that of the Cagiva with Lucky Strike colors of Auriol and Orioli, and the double round headlight that the Dakar motorcycles also used.

Going deeper into this Dakarian aspect, he mounts a second tank under the seat, as did the motorcycles of the po[CENSORED]r rally. It has a carbon protector under the crankcase.

The fork that assembles the prototype is a beautiful multi-adjustable inverted Marzocchi, with TiN antifriction treatment. The brakes are Brembo with radial anchor calipers, and the wheels are 21 ”and 17”, riding a Pirelli Scorpion Rally, very ‘off road’.

The engine that mounts is the Desmo 1100 (1,073 c.c.) air-cooled, which offers a good 86 hp.

For the series model we do not believe that neither the multi-adjustable TiN fork, nor the carbon protector, nor the tank under the seat, appear in the production model.

The other prototype or ‘concept’ of the range, seen in Milan, was the Scrambler Motard, which was also shown as a sketch in Rimini.

Unlike the Desert X, the Motard mounts the 803 c.c. of the 800 range and that yields 73 hp.

To the wide handlebar with cover covers and reinforcement bar, trimmed fenders are added, supermotard tires (slick, with light drawings in the center), fork protections, which is the Icon's 41/150 mm Kayaba.

Mount side plates with the number 62, as well as on the front, just in front of the round headlight. A slit in the plate reveals a piece of LED in the daylight.

It is clear that we doubt that neither the front plate, nor the ‘supemotard’ tires, as well as the Termignoni exhaust kit, arrive as is the series model.
