[MC]Ronin[MC] Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Two Bulgarian volleyball legends enter the Hall of Fame Just two weeks after the entire European elite arrived in Sofia for the draw for the Champions League and the traditional European Gala, now Bulgarian volleyball has received another world recognition. Some of the biggest names in home volleyball Boris Guderov and Vasil Simov will become part of the International Volleyball Hall of Fame (IVHF) in Holyoke, Massachusetts (USA). The official ceremony is on November 9, when the guests with video and information will be presented the achievements of the two legendary Bulgarians, as well as four others - Josef Tesarz (Czech Republic), Cuban Mirka France Vasconcelos, Russian Valentina Ogienko and Brazilian Ze Marco De Marco . This year, 194 people have been nominated for the Players, Coaches, Organizers and Leaders categories. Boris Guderov received posthumous recognition in the "Players" category, and Simov was the only one selected in the "Coaches" category. Until now, the only Bulgarian in the Hall of Fame was Dimitar Zlatanov, who was recognized in 2007. The procedure for drawing up the documents began in 2017 with the active work of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BFV), the district administration of Pernik, where Boris Guderov and Vasil Simov were born, and the pernican Atanas Vaklinov, who has long been a contributor lives in the USA for years. Nomination proposals are submitted in a special online form and sent in writing to the President of the IVHF International Organizing Committee - Doug Bill. The Hall of Fame was created to store and show the history of volleyball and its main characters. The main criterion for selection is the international achievements of the people who have influenced the development of volleyball since the beginning of international competitions in 1948 until now. In the business cards for Bulgarians, the site of the International Volleyball Hall of Fame notes the following: Boris Guderov competed in the 1964 Tokyo Games when volleyball was an Olympic sport for the first time; He is a captain of the Bulgarian national team for 17 consecutive years and has played professionally for 21 years; Helps the Bulgarian team win the bronze medal at the 1949 and 1952 World Championships; He was selected in the perfect World Cup squad in 1952 and became the best striker in the 1956 planet champion; He has played in five European Championships. Vasil Simov competes for the Bulgarian national team of four world and two European championships; Coaches Bulgaria's women's national team to the bronze medals of the 1980 Moscow Olympics, as well as to the third place at the 1979 European Championships in Paris and to the 1981 title in Sofia; As coach, he led the men's national team to the bronze medals at the European Championships in Berlin in 1983; As a CSKA coach, she won four titles with women and three with men.
