According to the latest figures, at the end of August, 71 citizens have a deposit of more than one million euros

Montenegro has more bank accounts than residents, with more than one million deposits held by 71 citizens of the country, according to data from the Montenegrin Central Bank.

The legal entities, or 62 Montenegrin companies, announce that they have money in their accounts abroad for a total value of EUR 12.7 million.

It is not known which areas these companies are from and how many Montenegrins have accounts abroad as they are not required to report.

According to the latest data, at the end of August, a deposit of more than one million euros is held by 71 citizens, and the record holder is a person who owns 32 million euros, who is a citizen of Montenegro and not a foreigner, national television reports.

Foreign nationals in Montenegro participate with EUR 460.3 million, foreign companies with EUR 283.5 million, the financial sector with EUR 7.1 million and foreign NGOs EUR 3.57 million.
