Three years after the presentation of the 488 Challenge, the new model for its traditional global single-brand championship, Ferrari is now launching an evolution of the competition car called 488 Challenge Evo, which incorporates a kit that raises the car's performance in race conditions .

The package, according to Ferrari, maximizes the synergy that must be between aerodynamics and conductive dynamics, with an improvement in Pirelli tires (275 / 67.5 R19 forward and 315 / 70.5 R19 rear), a better balance between aerodynamic loading and electronic controls, and an address with a greater conductive touch.

The performance is guaranteed by an increased aerodynamic load (especially in the trunk to limit oversteer), by the new tires that offer an extra grip in all conditions, and by an improvement in the E-Diff 3 and F1- traction systems. TCS Both systems are supported in the Side Slip Control (SSC), which acts by estimating the angle of skidding, and now has new levels of performance that are more permissive.

The model was also redesigned, with a front that now increases aerodynamic efficiency by 30% compared to the 488 Challenge. There are new, more effective air intakes to cool the engine and brakes, and in the rear the splitter was expanded and the lateral channeling of the air flows was improved. Ferrai indicates that in total, the aerodynamic load has been improved by 50% compared to the previous Challege.

The mark indicates that the driver can modify the aerodynamic load independently back and forth, getting the balance that best suits the competition, depending on the type of circuit, weather and driving style. With this new package, the 488 Challenge has 20% more adjustment options only on the front axle, compared to the original car.

The cabin is also new and takes many elements seen in other track models, such as the FXX-K Evo and the 488 GTE, including the steering wheel with the integrated paddle shift, a new ABS control, a rear camera to improve visibility in competition, among others.

The 488 Challenge Evo maintains the 3.9-liter V8 biturbo engine, which delivers 661 HP, associated with the F1 DCT box. Deliveries of this new model, the successor of a long line of race cars of the brand, will begin before the end of the year.
