Jesurún reveals that Queiroz did not tell the truth about James's absence

The president of the Football Federation spoke of his non-convocation against Chile and Algeria.

After the great controversy that was generated by the non-convocation of James Rodríguez to the Colombian National Team for the friendly matches against Chile and Algeria, a new reason appeared to give a part of tranquility in regards to the great figure of the national team.

On the rumor in which it was spoken that there was a possible agreement between James Rodríguez and Carlos Queiroz so that the player did not go to the friendly matches, the president of the Colombian Football Federation, Ramón Jesurún, spoke on Friday and said there was a talk between James and Queiroz contradicting what the coach said there was no agreement.
“It's a matter of convenience with the player. Professor Queiroz talks permanently with him. Before the call they had a three to four hour meeting and agreed that it was important that he had a joint job at Real Madrid and that was the case, but here there is no problem at all, the relationship of the technical staff with each of the players is exceptional, ”said Jesurún interview with 'Antena 2'.

This statement by Queiroz goes against what Queiroz had said in the press conference he called on Tuesday before the meeting against Chile, which said there were no agreements.

“The decisions are very simple, I take them after analyzing the players. All the decisions I make are the answer to a very simple question, what is best for the team. There are no agreements, there is no complicity. The national team is older than me, "said Queiroz.
And Queiroz added: "I saw that someone said that James asked not to come to the National Team and that is not true. I have no more answers or want to talk about confrontations. I have to speak honestly and clearly about the decision I made," he said.

In addition, Queiroz had said that speculation should be set aside and that he had made the decision according to what he had seen.

“You have to separate the important from the minor. We must leave the speculation behind. You have to be more independent from Spain. I make the decisions after analyzing the players. The decisions that are made are the best for the team. I never tire of talking to my coaching staff or the players to make the best decisions, ”said the coach at the time.
The next opportunity for James to be summoned to the Colombian National Team again will be in November, when two friendly matches are played against Peru and Ecuador, both in the United States.

"James is going to be in the National Team, at any moment he is going back, we don't worry about that," Jesurún concluded.
