The name of the aviator is Simeon Petrov, born 130 years ago in Rousse, the first person in the history of aviation to successfully land an aircraft with a failed engine while flying, says veteran Ivan Petkov. In 1947, SIMONAVIA was nationalized and its name changed to Balkanton. Simeon Petrov, the first in the sky, became a worker-beaver at the Sofia High Power Plant.
