However, the pilot remains cool and using his excellent knowledge of the principles of aerodynamics, he undertakes a descent that will remain forever in history.

The name of the aviator is Simeon Petrov, born 130 years ago in Rousse, the first person in the history of aviation to successfully land an aircraft with a failed engine while flying, says veteran Ivan Petkov.

First in everything

Simeon Petrov is the first person to fly in the sky over Sofia, the first head of the airplane school and the founder of the airport "Bozhurishte".

He made his first landing on a combat aircraft during the war.

After signing the Treaty of Noah in 1919, he stopped aviation, but could not escape his fate - to be the first in everything.

So he started importing sports goods and bicycles into the country. Because of his contributions to cycling in Bulgaria, he became the leader of our team at the Berlin Olympics in 1936.

Petrov established the company "SIMONAVIA", which initially imported turntables from France, and then began production in our country.

The record label is Orpheus, and the company records over 5,000 records that become part of the basis of Radio Sofia's repertoire.

In 1947, SIMONAVIA was nationalized and its name changed to Balkanton.

Simeon Petrov, the first in the sky, became a worker-beaver at the Sofia High Power Plant.

He died of a heart attack at the age of 61 in Sofia.
