Akrapovic Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 It is no secret that BMW is manufacturing a new classic boxer range of 1,800 c.c. Air-cooled, with OHV cam system and direct gimbal, not the well-known Paralever. As has been the case for some years, it presents an advance in the form of a 'concept' in the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The prototype was called R18. Two versions We have seen the engine in several prototypes and now, and thanks Motorcycle.com, also the first spy photos of two different versions, half covered with plastics while being loaded onto a truck. One of them, cruiser type, clearly mounts a high windshield and two leather suitcases and tires type ‘bobber’ Michelin Commander II and footrests and chrome pedals. Spy photos BMW R1800C 3 The other model, type ‘bagger’, mounts a small windshield, as well as side cases. Use Bridgestone Battlecruise H50 tires and the pedals are painted black. It can also be seen that the round headlight is chrome and that there are a couple of auxiliary headlights next to it, also chrome. The chassis seems to be similar to that of the R18, as well as the drop-shaped tank. A steering damper is also clearly visible. In both models the leaks are independent - one on each side - with an angled termination. The engine features a plate with ‘1800 c.c.’ engraved and chrome cylinder head covers. If a pair of carburetors were mounted on the Concept R18, it is certain that electronic injection will be used on the R1800C. Spy photos BMW R1800C 2
