Today, the national evacuation drill will take place. In Bogotá, public and private sector companies, hospitals, schools, universities, kindergartens and the community in general, will participate in the prevention exercise. There are more than 14,000 registrations to be part of the most important half hour of the year. On this occasion, the objective will focus on strengthening the knowledge and response capacity of citizens in an emergency. Therefore, all emergency and evacuation systems in the city will be tested. Taking into account that Bogotá is a city with a large number of risk scenarios for earthquakes, landslides and other emergencies, exercises such as those of today allow us to identify, prior to the occurrence of an emergency, the strengths and improvement actions to protect life in a real situation Exercise Details The day will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. During the exercise there will be some modifications in the city. According to TransMilenio, the TransMiCable system will suspend its operation for the duration of the simulation. Likewise, no attention will be given to the public in this period in some state offices. This year some of the points with the greatest concentration will be: National Park, San Diego, Colpatria Tower, Plazoleta de las Nieves, Plazoleta del Rosario, Plaza de Bolívar, Journalists Park, CAD, San Victorino, Santa Bárbara, Parque de la 93 , Calle 72 with 7 and Manuela Beltrán University. Constant work in the city Bogotá has different risk scenarios, so through the District Institute for Risk Management and Climate Change (Idiger), it has been working to strengthen citizens' knowledge and response capacity in an emergency situation. These efforts have achieved greater participation of organizations and congregation of people.
