Angrry.exe™
At the end of last week, Microsoft released a new update for Windows 10. It does this frequently, but this time, to everyone's shock, something unexpected happened. This update degraded the performance of the PCs it was installed on. The update has the number KB 4512941 and affects the 1903 version of Windows 10, seems to cause on some PCs a large percentage of processor use by the application SearchUI.exe, in some cases even 40%. This is the search component of the operating system, the one (yet) related to Cortana and unable to find something you put on the desktop. A potential cause (proposed by the community) seems to be the insistence of some users to disable Bing search, since when you search for something on your PC, you don't want the first result to appear to be something found on the net. from Bing. So one proposed solution (also by the community) is to reactivate Bing. Alternatively, you can uninstall this update, not being a critical one. Microsoft is still investigating when this article is being drafted, and an official response should arrive soon, along with a solution.
