Angrry.exe™
Nowadays, some of the best laptops come with Linux pre-installed. Specifically, with Deepin, a very nice and stable Linux distribution, which, like Huawei, is developed in China. Whether this measure comes as a response to the war between China and the United States or not, is a step towards migrating to Linux, which big OEM companies like Dell and Lenovo have made. As they come with good news, but also with less good news, let's say the wrong thing before and say that the Linux laptops from Huawei are currently only available in China. The models with Deepin are Huawei MateBook X Pro, Huawei MateBook 13 and Huawei MateBook 14 and it seems that there are no configuration options, being limited to one variant of each. As for the positives, Huawei has given up the traditional Windows button in favor of a simple key that just writes Start. As you would expect, the three models cost less than the Windows versions, the difference being about a license for the operating system, ie 300 CNY or a language closer to ours, around $ 42. As for Deepin, its Chinese origins tend to spark controversy in the Linux community, but this distribution is completely Open Source and the source code is available on GitHub. We are now ignoring the landscape and political motives and I must say that Deepin is one of the most interesting Linux distributions I have seen and is also available in English. The open-source nature of the operating system, however, also means that Huawei is allowed to make any changes. One of these would be adding the Cloud Sync feature that lets you sync various devices through the cloud. It is also worth mentioning the obvious thing. Huawei laptops can run any Linux distribution perfectly, not just Deepin. Could this be a precursor to a global move for Huawei to include Linux as the default operating system on all its laptops? Or maybe they are trying to get used to getting out of the comfort bubble, namely Windows 10, to adopt Harmony OS. There are questions that I have no answers yet, but it will be interesting to see how things evolve.
