The Hyundai i30 is a C-segment passenger car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company since 2007. It is a five-seater with transverse front engine and front-wheel drive, which accompanies the Hyundai Elantra in the European market and complements it in others countries

The i30 is the brand model that opens the new nomenclature, consisting of a lowercase "i", a digit and a zero. The second model to use it is the Hyundai i10, which belongs to segment A and replaces the Hyundai Atos.

The first generation of the i30 was developed in parallel with the Kia Cee'd I, with which it shares platform and mechanics. It is offered with five-door hatchback and family bodies, which were officially presented respectively in the Geneva and Seoul car shows 2007. According to the market, the family is called "Elantra Touring" or "i30 CW" (by "Crossover Wagon ").

The gasoline engines are a 1.4-liter of 109 hp, a 1.6-liter of 122 hp and a 2.0-liter of 143 hp, while diesel engines are a 1.6-liter of 90 or 115 hp and a 2.0-liter of 140 hp. All of them are four cylinders in line and have four valves per cylinder. The gasoline is all atmospheric and has indirect injection, and the diesel ones incorporate turbocharger of variable geometry, direct injection with power supply by common-rail and intercooler. The i30 exists with a five or six-speed manual gearbox, and with a four-speed automatic.

The second generation of the i30 went on sale in February 2012. It has three-door and five-door hatchback bodies, and a five-door family.

You can choose between three gasoline engines - 1.4i MPI of 100 hp and 1.6 GDI of 135 hp and 1.6 T-GDi of 186 hp - and another three diesel - 1.4 CRDi of 90 hp and 1.6 CRDi of 110 or 128 hp. All versions have a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, although the two most powerful diesel variants can optionally have an automatic transmission of the same number of ratios. It has good reactions in gasoline engines both in power and consumption in relation to the difference in CV in engines.

Hand of the South Korean firm Hyundai is committed to the new turbo-gasoline engine called T-GDi that starts from 1.0 (120CV - 171Nm) engines to 1.4 T-GDi (140CV - 242Nm) while retaining the entrenched 1.6 CRDi diesel engine (136CV - 300Nm).

With this body the firm announced its most radical version to date, called i30 N and a specially designed engine with a delivery of 275 hp.

In this version the body grows, with widened wheel arches, more prominent bumpers and a height reduced by 4 mm (7 mm in the Performance version).
