The Jeep Grand Cherokee is an all-terrain vehicle of the segment E produced by the American manufacturer Jeep since 1992. There are four generations of the Grand Cherokee, all with five seats, five-door body, longitudinal front engine and available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

It was unveiled on January 14, 2013 at the North American International Motor Show, in Detroit, Michigan. The Jeep Grand Cherokee comes in four engines, the EcoDiesel V6 that achieves a consumption of 48 Kpg with 240cv, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 that achieves a consumption of 38.4 Kpg and develops a maximum power of 290cv, the 5.7L Hemi V8 with a consumption of 33.6 Kpg and 360cv, and finally, the 6.4L Hemi of 470cv, the same engines as its predecessor. In the exterior changes with respect to its predecessor we have a new front with a grille covered with the body color, new smaller headlights, and the new rear headlights complete the exterior changes. There are also new 17 ", 18" and 20 "hoops. The SRT-8 model will continue to be offered, and for the first time they will offer details of the firm as headlights darkened back and forth. Inside, the Summit model receive the 9-speaker surround sound system of the Harman / Kardon® brand, and all models of the new Grand Cherokee will receive a new steering wheel with paddle shifts, an 8-speed TorqueFlite 8 automatic transmission, an 8.4 "touch screen with a Garmin® navigation system, and, optionally, a CD Player and the U Connect Access system introduced for the first time in the completely renewed Dodge Ram 1500 of 2013. A touch-screen radio with U Connect 5.0 will also be available with a CD player optionally.

The Selecterrain system receives multiple improvements to the Grand Cherokees with four-wheel drive. The attachments are also new exterior colors, new materials and interior colors. The SRT-8 model comes equipped with a steering wheel with the SRT badge, 20 "alloy rings, high-performance wheels and some inspired details of the new 2013 Dodge Viper SRT-10. This model is produced at the Jefferson North Assembly plant Plant in Detroit, Michigan, where the Grand Cherokee has been produced since 1992.

Call for review
In April 2016, the U.S. Department of Transportation (NHTSA) ordered a review of the 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and other vehicle models that use an electronic gearshift that sometimes does not hold in the parking position . Users reported that when the vehicle was parked while it was still on, it was sliding. In June 2016, the NHTSA had recorded 121 accidents and 30 people injured. The model under review was the same one in which actor Anton Yelchin died, when his 2015 Grand Cherokee crushed him against a wall at the entrance of his house. For late 2016 and 2017 models Jeep replaced the gear lever design with a conventional one.
