The NGO Open Arms ship has rescued 39 more migrants this morning, for which there are already 160 people waiting to board their landing in a safe harbor. As reported by the organization, Malta has agreed to land only the last 39 rescued.

Alarm Phone, which monitors the situation of boats in the Mediterranean, had reported late on Friday a warning about a vessel in danger in the area of Malta. However, finally it was not the Maltese forces who came to the aid, but 'Open Arms'.

"39 people rescued last night, adding to the 121 people on board. They all need to reach safe harbor NOW," the NGO announced in its Twitter account.

As reported by Open Arms, Malta only offers the landing of the 39 newly rescued by the ship, which the NGO considers "inadmissible."

"Malta refuses to disembark the 121 people who have been on board for 9 days" -to which they have just added 39-, he lamented on Twitter.

The NGO has added that "it is inadmissible" and that "it has generated serious security problems on deck" and the founder of the entity, carscar Camps, has described the level of anxiety of the rescued as unsustainable.

These 160 people join the other 85 who are also waiting aboard the 'Ocean Viking', the ship of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and SOS Mediterranée, and were rescued on Thursday off the coast of Libya.

The Interior Minister of Italy, Matteo Salvini, has already warned that he will not allow either ship to dock in Italy, days after Parliament endorses a decree that raises fines for NGOs entering in Italian waters without permission from the authorities.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) estimates that, so far this year, more than 840 people have lost their lives in the Mediterranean, including some 576 trying to reach the coasts of Italy or Malta.

For its part, last Monday, the Basque Government showed its willingness to collaborate in the reception of migrants rescued by the Open Arms in the Mediterranean.
