Kyrie Andrew Irving (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, March 23, 1992) is an American basketball player. It belongs to the staff of Brooklyn Nets. At 1.91 meters tall, he plays in the base position.

Biography
Kyrie Irving was born in the Australian city of Melbourne, Victoria, but is from American parents, Drederick and Elizabeth, and after his birth he later moved to the US, where he grew up and went to Duke University. Even so, Irving maintains dual Australian-American nationality.

college
After having played in 2010 the prestigious McDonald's All American Game, 1 played for a season with the Blue Devils of Duke University, in which he averaged 17.5 points, 4.3 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. There, under the orders of Mike Krzyzewski, he had a spectacular start, leading his team in the first 8 games played with 17.4 points, with 53.4% success in the field shots, to which he added 5 , 1 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

But in his eighth game against Butler, Irving suffered a serious injury to the big toe of his right foot that kept him off the track for 3 months.4 He reappeared in March, just to play the NCAA Tournament, in which they fell against Arizona Wildcats in the round of 16, in a game in which they got 28 points coming off the bench.

He is the second player born in Australia to be chosen in number 1 of the NBA Draft after Andrew Bogut, who was in 2005.

Tempowered 2012-13: First All-Star
Irving injured his index finger on November 17. Despite this he returned to play the next game, where the injury worsened and forced him to miss three weeks of the championship. In his second game after his return, against the New York Knicks, Irving scored 41 points with 5 assists and 5 rebounds wearing a protective mask for a broken face. Irving became the youngest player to score 40 points at Madison Square Garden being a year younger than Michael Jordan who did it in 1985. On December 15 he achieved his highest score in the league with 44 points. Irving was selected to play in his first NBA All-Star Game. He also participated in the Rising Stars Challenge scoring 32 points for the Shaq team in an effort to lose. Another triumph this weekend was in the triple contest being the winner of the contest with 23 points facing Matt Bonner in the final.

2013-14 Season: All-Star MVP
Irving was voted by fans to be the starting base of the Eastern Conference in the 2014 NBA All-Star Game. Irving registered 31 points and 14 assists and won the MVP of the match with the East beating West 163-155.

Irving averaged 20.8 points, 6.1 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals in the season.
