Ayuda humanitaria

The Red Cross confirmed the arrival in Venezuela of 34 tons of medicines and supplies, as part of humanitarian aid to provide some hospitals in the country and try to reach about 650,000 people.

It was reported that the cargo is a donation from the Italian Red Cross and that it contains antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, disposable medical devices and medical equipment such as defibrillators.
In a statement, the Italian government explained that the shipment left the United Nations Humanitarian Response depot located in the city of Brindisi, in southern Italy, adding that the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emanuela Del Re, was present during the action.
Explains the letter that supplies will be distributed through the International Red Cross and Red Crescent in conjunction with the Venezuelan Red Cross.

The shipment, which is added to those completed last April and June, was coordinated by the Italian Red Cross, "with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and private donors," the text added.

The sending of the Italian Red Cross to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) "aims to provide a range of health services to 650,000 people in Venezuela for 12 months."
