After weeks of scandals, allegations of corruption, pressures and mass protests in the streets that weakened his administration and undermined his leadership, Ricardo Rosselló Nevares announced tonight his resignation as governor of Puerto Rico effective August 2.The announcement, on the Facebook page of La Fortaleza, came later that this afternoon the Secretary of Public Affairs, Anthony Maceira, reported that the first executive was fine-tuning a speech he would give during the day, although at that time he did not specify the time .Almost six hours passed from Maceira's appearance until the message was transmitted. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
