Simon Yates achieved victory in stage 12 of the Tour

After 209 km, Egan and Nairo were ready for the time trial on Friday.

Simon Yates won the stage 12 of the Tour de France, held on Thursday between Toulouse and Bagnères-de-Bigorre, 209 kilometers, which peeked the high mountain. Julian Alaphilippe maintained the leader's jersey and the Colombians Egan Bernal and Nairo Quintana kept their positions within the best eight of the competition, after the arrival of the batch to finish after 9 minutes 35 seconds.

Yates was faster than Pello Bilbao and Gregor Mühlberger, who came to define the partial victory.

The great emotions were experienced in the lot of escaped, a large group that almost from the beginning went in search of victory. 40 runners decided to leave and in the end the only survivor won the day.

Within that lot were, among others, Lilian Calmejane (Total Direct Energie), Sonny Colbrelli, Gregor Mühlberger, Daniel Oss, Max Schachmann (Bora-Hansgrohe), Matthias Fränk (Ag2r La Mondiale), Imanol Erviti (Movistar Team), Pello Bilbao (Astana), Simon Clarke (EF Education First), Matteo Trentin, Simon Yates (Mitchelton-Scott), Greg van Avermaet, Serge Pauwels (CCC Team), Rui Costa (UAE Team Emirates), Fabio Felline, Jasper Stuyven (Trek) -Segafredo), Michael Matthews, Nikias Arndt, Nicholas Roche (Team Sunweb), Pierre-Luc Périchon, Julien Simon (Cofidis), Tiesj Benoot, Tim Wellens (Lotto-Soudal), Andrea Pasqualon (Wanty-Groupe Gobert), Michael Valgren (Dimension Data), Kévin Lédanois (Arkéa-Samsic).

Back, the leader's group took the first two promotions calmly. The escapees managed to have more than six minutes ahead and ahead there was no runner who put the danger first in the general standings.

The battle for the stage victory was important. Clarke, Calmejane, Yates, Bilbao were the most battled.

In the last climb of the day, Yates and Mühlberger eloped from the leading group and at the top managed to draw some differences from their pursuers. In the descent they arrived Bilabo, while in the leading lot Ineos commanded the actions.

This Friday will be the individual time trial of 27 kilometers, with departure and arrival in Pau, key to debug the general.
