Lucas Jaramillo: "Andrés Felipe Arias, my school friend, is innocent"

  "I know their DNA and I know their trajectory," says Jaramillo.

"This is ANDRÉS FELIPE ARIAS, my school friend, the smartest I've ever met, the one who helped me graduate from college." Thus begins the message that the ex-football player Lucas Jaramillo published, on Instagram, to show solidarity with the former minister Arias. Jaramillo accompanied the text of several images that show them both when they were children and studied together at the Columbus School in Medellín.

Andrés Felipe Arias, in July 2014, was sentenced by the Supreme Court of Justice to 17 years in prison for peculation for appropriation in favor of third parties and undue interest in the conclusion of contracts, in the case of Agro Ingreso Seguro. However, when the sentence was known, Arias was already in the United States. His intention was to ask for political asylum, but the American country did not grant it and, after a long process, authorized his extradition to Colombia.

Jaramillo published the message and photos in the midst of the commotion generated by this news, and joins the voices that consider Arias innocent and request a second instance: "Even the most murderous, NARCOTERRORIST, VIOLATOR ... until the more SANTRICH, GARAVITO, deserves A SECOND INSTANCE: Any day the world turns around and it can touch anyone to live an equal situation and 100% would ask at least that ... A SECOND INSTANCE ".

The ex-football player, who is now a players' entrepreneur, recalled some moments he lived with the former minister when they were children: Afternoons spent unnecessarily many nights, just so I could capture math, history and English. Long nights when the only commitment was to have fun and where politics did not matter at all. His commitment was to get 10 and I would get at least 6 ".

And this is Jaramillo's argument to say that Arias is not guilty: "I think he is an innocent man because I know his DNA and I know his trajectory".
