Dark Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 The Asturian has not yet announced what he will do next year but the doors of the Grand Circus seem to close as McLaren, Ferrari or Reb Bull are pronounced. Since leaving Formula 1 at the end of 2018, the return of Fernando Alonso to the Gran Circo is a constant rumor even though neither the Spaniard nor any team have taken public steps in that regard. From the first day, the Spanish driver has made clear his requirements to return: a winning car from the first day. Despite the significant improvement of McLaren during this 2019 with Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris at the controls, the project of the Woking team does not seem to fit the requirements of Alonso. In addition, since the failure in the Indianapolis 500, the relationship between the British team and the pilot seems much colder. The arrival of Andreas Seidl to the management of the Formula 1 team has changed McLaren completely. One of his first decisions in terms of pilots was to eliminate Fernando Alonso as reserve this season and put in place Sergey Sirotkin, who will undertake this role in Renault and the British team. As if it were not enough for, the last decision of Seidl and McLaren has been to renew Sainz and Norris in the face of the 2020 season, silencing all the rumors about the possible return of Alonso of a slam. Those of Woking have clear the route that they want to take. The absence of the Asturian has helped them this season to lose part of the media focus, something that allows them to work more comfortably.
