Nairo Quintana already knows the seven teammates he will have in the Tour de France, which will depart from Brussels on July 6, with an online stage of 194 kilometers.

Next to Quintana will be Mikel Landa, Alejandro Valverde, Marc Soler, Imanol Erviti, Carlos Verona, Nelson Oliveira and Andrey Amador, with the slogan of going for the crown that has eluded the team in recent years.

The squad arrives with the incentive of having won the Giro d'Italia with the Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz, but in the Tour everything will be at another price.

It is clear that it has two leaders: Nairo and Landa, and that with the passing of the competition will know who will go to work to fight for the general classification.

Valverde is not a man who will fight for the outposts, he is already 39 years old and his goal, as he has argued, is to help Quintana and Landa to win the competition. Your experience will be fundamental.

This time, the Boyacá will not have compatriots as squires, which also happened in 2013 and 2018; of rest, always had a Colombian support. In 2015 and 2016 he was accompanied by Wínner Anacona, and in 2017 the turn was for Carlos Betancur.

Nairo, at the press conference before his trip to Europe, asked Eusebio Unzué, manager of the team, to consider Anacona to accompany him on the Tour, but that did not happen.

The only debutant of the team is Verona, 26 years old; everyone else has competed in the Tour.

In fact, everyone has helped one or several times in the Quintana case in search of the title of the French race, so it is not an issue worth deepening.

Everyone knows each other, they know what to do; The Tour is a family run for them. The first big challenge will be Sunday, in the 27 km team time trial, but they are not candidates to win, and the idea is to lose as little time as possible.

Valverde will arrive at his Tour number 12, Erviti will be part of lot number nine and at 35 years old. Only Nairo Quintana has made podium in three occasions: twice second, 2013 and 2015, and in a third opportunity, in 2016.

Next to Valverde, third in 2015, they are the only two cyclists on the team who finished in one of the three boxes of the podium in the history of the Tour.

Landa, with whom Nairo will fight the leadership, has been three times in the Tour: finished of 35 in 2016, finished fourth in 2017 and last year was in the seventh box, one more incentive to say that he can lead the team in the present edition.

The goal of Movistar is equal to the Ineos of Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal: win the Tour, whoever it is.
