Akrapovic Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 While this lighting technology invades streets and homes, the truth is that not all the LED offer of the automotive sector is fully supported. There is so much variety of brands and LED headlights (Light Emitting Diode) in the automotive market, with different qualities and qualities, that it is increasingly difficult for the user to decide on a product or, in the end, remain unsatisfied, as not all units LED have the kindness they promise. At this point we highlight the new premium line LEDriving HL from Osram, which can be installed in fog lamps, high lights and low lights, being a convenient solution to update the original halogen lamps, thanks to its color temperature of 6,000 ° K, a its high-performance LEDs (which provide better lighting than a halogen bulb) and its passive heat dissipation, which allows it to deliver a five-year warranty. There are many brands in the market that do not have a reputation to take care of, so it is easy to find LED products for cars that indicate a duration of 50,000 hours, but work less than a year; that's incoherent information, considering that one year has 8,760 hours. At this point applies the maxim of "cheap is expensive", because many users are guided solely by the price when buying lighting devices and end up asking: why generic and cheap LEDs burn frequently and do not last the hours they promise? The answer to that question is almost always the same: because the heat dissipation system is inefficient. The natural functioning of the LED Chip heats the electronic components, so that, if there is no efficient cooling, the unit fails prematurely, usually after a few months. Something very different happens with the new LEDriving HL bulbs from Osram, which have been shown to offer more light on the track (at some points up to an additional 127%) than an original halogen bulb and even more (at some points up to 168% additional) than others LED units. Another problem that has been detected is that the lamps with unreliable LED bulbs, which can also dazzle other drivers on the road, give the vehicle less light capacity than the original bulbs, which is obviously a danger when driving. Finally, some users complain about the low visibility offered by their LED units when rolling on the road in foggy or rainy conditions. The specialists argue that, in many cases, this situation is due to the fact that the LEDs are not located in the correct position; in fact, certain brands form a unit with LED towers, calling them 3D lamps, 4D, etc .; however, this configuration offers poor projection quality and higher glare index. In the case of Osram, its lamps use high performance LEDs that are combined with a geometry that respects the filament of the original halogen lamp, for this reason they do not dazzle and improve the amount of light resulting in the track. 1
