Dark Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 (edited) Prosecutor José Domingo Pérez, member of the special team of the Lava Jato case, considered that the next National Justice Board (JNJ) should dismiss Pedro Chávarry, former head of the Public Ministry, from the position of supreme prosecutor. "It is expected that the next National Justice Board may dismiss Pedro Chávarry from that position," said the prosecutor from Puno last Saturday, where he participated in an event organized by the Superior Court of Justice. He also said he was "outraged" to have a representative on the Board of Supreme Prosecutors who has committed acts that "do not dignify the institution" and is highly questioned. José Domingo Pérez also referred to the new constitutional accusation filed by the prosecutor of the Nation, Zoraida Ávalos against Pedro Chávarry, which is based on the alleged crimes of real cover-up, personal cover-up and attack against the conservation and identity of objects, for the irruption in the bureaucratic offices of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the theft of documents perpetrated at the beginning of the year. The prosecutor said that the accusation "is a consequence of the procedural process according to the legal framework," which should continue the corresponding process. Finally, he spoke about the questioning of the preventive prisons requested by the Public Prosecutor's Office for investigation in the Lava Jato case and stressed that "if the prosecutor does not comply with the precepts indicated by law, the judge will not grant it" , so he said that the application of this measure is in the hands of the judges.
