Congressmen from different parties request to rejoin Kenji Fujimori

Congressmen from different political groups requested through an official letter addressed to the president of Congress, Daniel Salaverry, to schedule and vote on the next plenary session, the reinstatement of legislators Kenji Fujimori, Guillermo Bocángel and Bienvenido Ramírez, suspended from their duties in June of 2018.

"The undersigned are pleased to address you as spokespersons of different parliamentary groups of this Congress to request, as a matter of urgency, that [...] the reincorporation of Congressmen Kenji Fujimori be scheduled and put to a vote in the next plenary session. Higuchi, Guillermo Bocángel Weydert and Bienvenido Ramírez Tandazo to the Congress of the Republic, "says the document.

As they argue, the maximum sanction period established in Article 24 of the Rules of the Congress has already expired. The three legislators are investigated for the alleged purchase of votes to avoid the vacancy of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.

                                     

The document has the signature of the spokespersons of New Peru, Richard Arce; of the Liberal Bank, Alberto de Belaunde, of Cambio 21, Marvin Palma; of Parliamentary Concertation, Juan Sheput, and Po[CENSORED]r Action, Edmundo del Águila, as well as Justiniano Apaza of the Frente Amplio, among others.

In this regard, congresswoman Maritza García (Cambio 21) criticized the fact that the Po[CENSORED]r Force spokesperson, Carlos Tubino, does not back his request for the reinstatement of Kenji Fujimori.

"Although yesterday Mr. Tubino has said through the media that he was flat to support the request, they have not wanted to sign and are reluctant to sign. This shows that there is no political will to return to Kenji, "he told the press.

As indicated, the argument of Fuerza Po[CENSORED]r not to sign the request is that the issue has not been discussed within the group.

"The argument is that they do not see him on the bench, that they have not seen him, that they have not approved him, and so they all excuse themselves and do not want to sign the document until now. The shameful thing is that all the spokesmen are supporting us; However, Fuerza Po[CENSORED]r, the party that helped found Kenji Fujimori, does not want to admit that they made a mistake and that we have to reincorporate it, "he said.

Finally, the congresswoman said that without the signature of the Fujimorista group, the request to put the issue on the agenda could not be made concrete.

"It would be impossible to touch the issue on the agenda [without that signature] because we would not have enough votes for the return. The return of Kenji depends on the political will of Fuerza Po[CENSORED]r, "he said.
