How to choose the right microphone

We have come out of the text messaging era for a long time, and clear evidence is the voice messaging functionality that we find on all messaging applications whether it's WhatsApp or Facebook messenger . It is obvious to everyone that the microphone is the new keyboard.

We will not analyze what, how and why we have come to this situation, but we will see what is the right solution for everyone. How can we exemplify otherwise than presenting the microphones we use?

Although I think no one uses this product anymore, it is worth mentioning. It's the great-grandfather of the microphone: the computer microphone.

In 2009, when I bought my first computer, I made a completely black setup. It was terrific. Black monitor, keyboard, mouse, everything was black, the black case. But I needed a microphone, I had a computer microphone, and then it was crazy. At that time, I did not even have a built-in microphone headset so you needed such a microphone.

Times have changed. We have a wide range of microphones from which we can choose, but at the moment we have limited ourselves to three.

Audio-Technica ATR3350iS

We'll start with the lavalier microphone we use to record these videos, which is an Audio-Technica ATR3350iS. This type of microphone can be used with your smartphone, or DSLR devices. It's omnidirectional, so it's not very good for areas where you have a lot of ambient noise. But, used in a controlled environment, such as where we are filming, the sound will be very clear.

The laval type microphone also has power, it works with a LR44 battery, and in the pack we also have a clips that help us fix the clothes. The lavender connects to your smartphone or DSLR through a 6-meter long thread at the end of which we have a 3.5-inch jack.

The price of the lavalier that we use is of this microphone is 160 lei, about that and depending on the retailer you buy it. But, in terms of quality-price, it's an inspired choice. If you want to register or want to start playing, we warmly recommend this lavalier.

Before going to the entertainment and hobby area, we will stay a little in this sphere of productivity and we will introduce you a streaming and voice-over microphone that we love very much and is especially for people who will not to be necessarily in front of the camera, but needing to deliver a clear message of very good audio quality.

TRUST GXT252 EMITA

We are talking about the TRUST GXT252 EMITA that is a USB microphone. It is not limited to transmitting and capturing only the voice, but also the acoustic instruments.

Emita manages to filter the background noise very well. Depending on the room you are in and the noise level, it can be calibrated so as to almost completely eliminate any kind of noise. After all, not many have a room in which they have soundproofed all the walls.

Why recommend this product? First of all, it has a very durable metal stand, has a pop filter and sponge clothing. All of these elements help record sound quality. We talked about quality, now we're talking about the price. Trust Emita can be purchased at a price of less than $ 500, which makes it very affordable if we look at other market options.

But the advantages do not stop there. The Emita Trust comes with a very useful, extremely beautiful shipping box, and if you have a make-up artist wife, you can hide it from her.

But here's the last segment: Entertainment. When talking about entertainment and the microphone in the same sentence we can only talk about one thing: GAMING.

HyperX Cloud Alpha

When it comes to gaming, I chose to use a pair of HyperX Cloud Alpha headphones. I will not go into much detail about the capabilities of these headphones, you can read about them in the previous review. I'm just going to refer to the microphone.

HyperX Cloud Alpha is good for any type of games, but it excels at shooters. If for moba and real-time strategy games you do not need "precision" precision, the shooter changes this because it can make a difference between life and death.

Video game makers have played games with audio queues, and those with fine hearing and high performance headphones can find and use them for their benefit.

How many times have you played World of Warcraft, are you in the middle of a RAID, and a teammate has typed "/ oom" or, harder, the raid leader has ordered a "/ flee" retreat? Of course never! It's all talking to Team Speak or Vent complaining that you were already on the seventh wipe, and the druid insists he's going to go to the bathroom every five minutes.

That is precisely why most people rely on verbal communication. Platforms such as Discord, Team Speak or Ventrilo have become bigger. Well, if you're a casual like me, you're using Skype.

Turning to the utility of the microphones, you will all ask yourself, "Okay, but why can not we use one of the microphones you introduced earlier?" You can! That depends on each one. For example, if someone is streaming, they can certainly use the HyperX headphones in tandem with Emita.

Maybe you will ask me: "But why not use the lavalier?" The answer is very simple: "An extra cable that hangs on you."

Imagine in the earlier scenario. You are in a multiplayer, you really have to go to the bathroom very quickly. If you have the HyperX microphone headphones, you just have to put your headphones down, you go to the bathroom, you come back, you put them on your head and you're ready.

Imagine the same scenario when you laval. Put the helmets down, disconnect, let the lavalier down, go to the bathroom. When you get back, you have to recapture, put your head on your head, and this is a very long time, lost, to the detriment of gaming.

Another feature of the HyperX microphone, which I find extremely useful, is that it can be detached. Do you need him? You couId him. Do not you need him? You took it out. Do not get tangled. Moreover, unlike other microphones it is extremely malleable. It can be directed in any position you need. If you want to keep it in your mouth, just put it on and you're free.

Since launch, the price of HyperX Cloud Alpha headphones has dropped to $ 450, compared to what they offer are quite affordable.
