A mother died a few hours after she buried her son killed in the Christchurch attack

The mother of a man who died in the armed attack in Christchurch suffered a heart attack only a few hours after his funeral.

Kamel Darwish, 38, was married and had three children. The man died after an individual opened the fire in the Al Noor mosque during prayer, according to Metro.

Kamel was buried on Friday and the next morning his mother, Saud Abdelfattah Mhaisen Adwan, 65, died.

According to official data, the woman suffered a heart attack that was fatal to her. But some say he died "badly".

"He never woke up. We believe that the main reason for her death is annoyance, "said the woman's nephew.

At least 49 people died and 48 others were injured in the armed attack on two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch.
