If the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem stops at 4.5 Gbps and it seems to you too little, the US company is recurring in the good sense with the X55 rising to 7 Gbps in download.

In fact, there have not even been launched mobile phones with the built-in X50 that already featured the X55, improved generation. The first 5G smartphones start in the coming days (GALAXY S10 5G + models to be presented at MWC Barcelona 2019).

The Snapdragon X55 will be embedded in the 2nd part of 2019. Download speed increases from 4.5 Gbps to 7 Gbps, but do not expect speeds of this order in the first 5G release. We can deceive ourselves with the fact that technology allows, but until the commercial implementation is a long way.

The X55 incorporates 5G, 4G and 3G technologies. As for the 4G, it knows Category 22 LTE / up to 2.5 Gbps in download. It is capable of dynamic spectrum on 5G and 4G.

Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 will be implemented in mobile phones, wireless routers, laptops, tablets, VR headphones, etc. It promises to deliver better autonomy than the X50.
