I saw ASUS Mothership and ASUS Zephyrus S GX701

ASUS presented at CES 2019 all the artillery for this year. But yesterday we had the opportunity to see them at an event dedicated to Warsaw. What attracted our attention was Zephyrus S GX701 and Mothership that we are going to talk about now.

 

The Zephyrus S GX701 is a lightweight, sleek, gaming laptop with top hardware, but it brings some interesting things compared to other models. It is equipped with video solutions from Nvidia, especially RTX 2080, but also with RTX 2060Ti in the basic versions. It has a 8th generation i7 processor, PANTONE-validated 17-inch screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time and Full HD resolution. It has 8GB GDDR6 VRAM video, the motherboard is in the Max Q version.

It measures 18.7mm thick, it has a new cooling system called Active Aerodynamic System, which has a large inlet when the cover is raised to increase the airflow. The air is absorbed through the grids above the keyboard, and the dual fans pull it back.

 

It has storage on the solid state drive, the RGB illuminated keypad is easy and can be transported without any problems. It costs between 10,000 and 16,000 lei. Tomorrow we'll show you a video with him.

 

ASUS Mothership is a new concept. It is a desktop replacement system where performance is put in front of portability. It's a all-in-one laptop that I've heard from other colleagues I called it. It is in a vertical position, it has a detachable and padded keyboard for different scenarios, the screen is 144Hz, 4ms, 17.3-inch G-Sync with Full HD resolution, and inside it has an i9 8950HK along with RTX 2080. All in a little casing thicker than a modern laptop.

It has HyperDrive Extreme storage that uses exclusive technology to combine 3 NVMe PCI Express SSDs in RAID 0 for read speeds of 8700MB / s. The advantage is that it can be used anywhere like a laptop if the keyboard is attached. It would cost about 4,000 euros and will be available from Q2.
