Dark Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 The Third Criminal Court of Appeals of Piura ratified this afternoon the measure of preventive detention for 7 months against the non-commissioned NPP Elvis Miranda, who has been investigated for having killed a suspected criminal in the Piura region. Miranda Rojas will have to stay in the Piura prison after the ratification of the measure against her, issued two weeks ago for the alleged crimes of homicide and abuse of authority. As you remember, last Sunday, January 13, the non-commissioned officer shot Juan Carlos Ramírez Chocán in the Piura district of Castilla. Subsequently, on Saturday, January 19, Miranda Rojas was transferred to the prison of Piura by order of Judge David Sosa Zapata, of the Second Court of Preparatory Investigation of Castile, following the request made by the prosecutor Lidia Castillo Chirinos. While awaiting the decision, friends and family of the non-commissioned officer concentrated on the exterior of the Third Criminal Appeals Chamber and expressed their rejection of the measure.
