The Superior Court of Justice specialized in Crimes of Organized Crime and Corruption of Officials elected Judge Elizabeth Arias Quispe as the person in charge of the cases involving the Po[CENSORED]r Force leader, Keiko Fujimori.

The magistrate, who is the head of the Third Preliminary Investigation Court of said court, will replace Judge Richard Concepción Carhuancho, who was removed from the proceedings against the former presidential candidate.

It transpired that the judge already sent to the magistrate's office all the files related to the case, despite the fact that the superior prosecutor Rafael Vela filed an appeal to annul the decision that set him aside from the trial, ordered by the court chaired by Judge César Sahuanay.

It is not the first time that Arias will know a case related to Fujimori. In November of 2017, the judge accepted an appeal filed by Keiko Fujimori and her husband, Mark Vito, in the Cocteles case and ordered the prosecutor José Pérez to conclude his investigation within 10 days.

However, that provision was annulled in the second instance. Now it is one of the most complex investigations facing the excandidata.

The magistrate also rejected, last December, the request for preventive detention against the former regional governor of Callao, Felix Moreno, for the Odebrecht case. Precisely, today Moreno was sentenced, but for the undervalued sale of the Oquendo estate in 2011.
